The tourism sector in 2022 looks promising. This is evident from the positive performance recorded by Panorama (PANR) in Q1 of 2022. PT Panorama Sentrawisata Tbk (PANR) managed to boost its sales to IDR 187.6 billion, an increase of 181% compared to the same period last year. This growth reflects the recovery in the tourism sector, particularly in the outbound tourism pillar, which is one of the key areas for PT Panorama Sentrawisata Tbk.
With many countries reopening their borders for tourist arrivals, Panorama is optimistic about achieving pre-pandemic performance levels, with the expectation of reaching this target by 2024. "We are excited about the reopening of borders in South Korea and Japan for Indonesian tourists this June, as these two countries have been popular destinations for Indonesian tourists over the past five years," said AB Sadewa, Corporate Secretary of PT Panorama Sentrawisata Tbk.
During the Lebaran holiday period, Panorama sent dozens of group tours abroad, with destinations like Turkey. The company is now focusing on sales for group tours during the upcoming school holidays in June-July. Panorama has also introduced a special Muslim travel package called Panorama Moslem Tour, which offers a tailored holiday experience for Muslim travelers, including halal dining options, prayer times included in the program, and opportunities to perform religious activities at renowned mosques like Hagia Sophia in Turkey.
In addition to the outbound pillar, Panorama also has an inbound pillar that handles foreign tourist arrivals. The inbound pillar has begun to feel the positive effects of the recent policy changes by the Indonesian government regarding the arrival of international tourists. These policies include the removal of quarantine for foreign tourists, the provision of visa-on-arrival for tourists from 72 countries, and the elimination of PCR tests upon arrival in Indonesia. "We started to feel the impact of these policy relaxations in March, when the Indonesian government allowed tourists to obtain visas upon arrival. To date, there are 72 countries eligible for this facility. With these developments, we are optimistic that 2022 will be a better year than 2021," Sadewa added.
With this situation, Panorama is confident in its ability to improve productivity, boost business growth, and prepare for normalization in the coming year.
