Panorama continues to strengthen its position in the tourism industry by tapping into Indonesia’s growing Muslim market. Recognizing the challenges faced by Muslim travelers in finding halal food and prayer spaces abroad, and backed by data from the Global Muslim Travel Index 2023 showing a 323.1% increase in Muslim travelers compared to the previous year, Panorama—through its subsidiary Panorama JTB Tours—has launched a specialized travel program: Moslem Tours.
Moslem Tours offers halal-friendly features such as prayer rooms in hotels, well-planned worship schedules, and halal versions of local cuisine. Unlike regular travel packages, Moslem Tours emphasizes both leisure and spiritual fulfillment during the trip.
The packages are not limited to Muslim-majority countries like Turkey or those in the Middle East, but also include destinations such as Japan, South Korea, China, Thailand, and various countries across Europe.
"We see a tremendous opportunity in the Muslim travel market in Indonesia, and through our Moslem Tours division, we aim to serve this niche with our high standards and extensive experience as a trusted travel agent and operator," said Hellen Xu, CEO of Panorama JTB Tours.
Each Moslem Tour group is accompanied by a Muslim tour leader who is knowledgeable about Islamic practices and the destinations. In addition to exploring natural and cultural landmarks, participants also have the unique experience of praying at world-renowned mosques.
For instance, in Turkey, travelers stay near Hagia Sophia and can attend Fajr and Friday prayers at the UNESCO World Heritage Site. In South Korea, they visit and pray at Itaewon Mosque, a historic symbol of Islam's presence there. Meanwhile, in Spain, travelers explore the Cordoba Cathedral, formerly known as the Great Mosque of Cordoba.
Along with mosque visits, tourists also explore iconic landmarks such as Cappadocia in Turkey, Nami Island in Korea, and Alhambra Palace in Spain, among others.
Moslem Tours began operations in March 2022 and has consistently received positive feedback from travelers. Prices vary depending on the destination and include flight tickets and hotel accommodations.
In addition to holiday packages, Moslem Tours also offers Umrah packages starting at IDR 34.5 million, with a strong focus on worship comfort and spiritual fulfillment.
