As the health situation improves and travel regulations ease, the mobility of people both domestically and internationally has increased. This is reflected in the performance of Panorama (PANR) throughout 2022 and into the fourth quarter, which met the company's projections. The demand for vacation and travel packages grew, especially leading up to the Christmas and New Year (Nataru) holiday period, which began in October. The demand for destinations was diverse, ranging from domestic locations in Indonesia to international destinations. Some of the popular destinations for the Nataru period included Bali, Yogyakarta, Medan, Lombok, Labuan Bajo, as well as international destinations in Western Europe, Turkey, and Asia such as South Korea, Japan, and Taiwan.
"Pent-up demand remains strong, and it will continue for some time. This will certainly become a momentum for the company to recover its performance and surpass pre-pandemic levels," said Budi Tirtawisata, President Director of PT Panorama Sentrawisata Tbk (PANR).
"Several factors that can boost the company's performance include the increased seat capacity supply from airlines adding more flight frequencies and reopening routes, hotels and tourist spots resuming operations, as well as the government's signal to lift PPKM (Public Activity Restrictions). These factors could serve as a positive momentum for the company in the coming year," he continued.
The Indonesian government plans to end the PPKM policy, which will drive increased mobility and, in turn, lead to a rise in travel spending by both the public and the government. This plan will significantly help the tourism sector recover more quickly. With the situation continuing to improve, Panorama will accelerate growth in 2023 by continuing to implement its smart-operation strategy and the sustainable tourism approach, which will enhance productivity and profitability in the coming year.
"We would like to thank the public, customers, and shareholders for their trust throughout 2022, and we wish everyone a wonderful holiday with their families," said Budi Tirtawisata, closing the company's official statement.
