Preventing the Spread of COVID-19, Panorama Provides Handwashing Facilities

Maintaining cleanliness is one of the key measures in preventing the spread of COVID-19. The WHO states that, in addition to wearing masks, washing hands with soap and running water can help stop the virus’s spread. Understanding this, Panorama has taken the initiative to improve cleanliness in the workplace by providing portable handwashing stations at the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy (Kemenparekraf).

This assistance was handed over on Thursday, April 16, and was received by representatives from Kemenparekraf at the Sapta Pesona Building, Central Jakarta. Dessy Ruhati, the Head of the General Bureau and Legal Secretariat of Kemenparekraf/Baparekraf, conveyed that the tourism industry has contributed significantly to COVID-19 mitigation efforts, and it is hoped that other industries will also join in the effort to accelerate the fight against the virus.

The prevention and mitigation of COVID-19 is a collective responsibility for all elements of the nation, including the government, private sector, and the general public. The assistance was handed over by Panorama’s representative, AB Sadewa, Vice President of Brand and Communications.

“The provision of portable handwashing stations is part of our effort to improve cleanliness before entering the workplace, as we genuinely want to end the spread of this virus so that the tourism industry can recover and thrive again,” said AB Sadewa.

In addition to being placed at the Sapta Pesona Building in Jakarta, several portable handwashing stations were also installed at high-traffic locations such as traditional markets, MRT stations, and sub-district offices. These handwashing stations were provided by The 1O1 Hotel under the management of PHM Hospitality, one of Panorama’s business groups.

Furthermore, Panorama, through two of its other business units, Panorama Destination and White Horse, has partnered with Kemenparekraf to provide bus fleets used for transporting medical personnel handling COVID-19 patients from hotels to government referral hospitals. Panorama has also kept donations open through the Panorama Foundation to provide personal protective equipment (PPE), surgical masks, face shields, medical gloves, disinfectant sprayers, and disinfectant liquid for healthcare workers and affected communities around Jakarta. The collected donations will be handed over to hospitals treating COVID-19 patients.
